ClipForge
Linux-first game recording with instant replay, hardware encoding, and a built-in searchable library.

ClipForge records gameplay on Linux with as little overhead as it can manage. It captures X11 through VA-API, NVENC, or QSV, with software x264 as a fallback, and grabs desktop audio from whichever PulseAudio or PipeWire monitor is active.
Instant replay keeps a rolling buffer in shared memory, so the last thirty seconds are always one hotkey away without the disk ever spinning. Recordings land in a SQLite library with full-text search and thumbnails, and export presets cover YouTube, vertical Shorts crops, and high-quality masters.
It ships as a Tauri desktop app with a system tray and global hotkeys, and as a headless CLI for streaming rigs and remote machines. A built-in doctor checks FFmpeg, GPU drivers, audio, and the display server before you hit record.
