ForgeCut
A lightweight, Linux-first timeline video editor for trimming, stitching, overlays, and fast ffmpeg export.
ForgeCut is a focused desktop video editor. It has a multi-track timeline with drag, trim, split, and magnetic snapping, frame-accurate preview scrubbing, an asset bin with thumbnails and waveforms, text and image overlays, picture-in-picture through stacked video tracks, and full undo and redo.
Export runs through ffmpeg with live progress. ffmpeg is spawned rather than linked, so the editor stays small and the encoder stays upgradeable. Projects save as portable .forgecut files.
Version 1.0 ships as AppImage, deb, and rpm for Linux, a dmg for macOS, and an installer for Windows.
